Private Domestic Abuse Adviser

Caroline Glass is a private domestic abuse consultant who worked for the charity Refuge for twelve years on the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, as an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) and as a Deputy Service Manager for the Gaia Centre in London. Since 2021, Caroline has been working in the private sector providing support, guidance and safeguarding advice to survivors of abuse alongside their Family lawyer.

Caroline has a degree in Criminology and a Masters in Women and Child Abuse and has worked in close partnership with the Metropolitan Police, Social Services and other statutory and voluntary services so that they are able to achieve effective safeguarding outcomes.

Caroline supports individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. She helps them to understand what is happening in their relationship and why their partner or ex-partner is behaving in the way that they are. She also identifies safeguarding strategies that can help them to remain emotionally and physically safe.

Caroline believes in empowering survivors by providing them with the knowledge and tools that they need to regain their freedom and autonomy. She offers one-on-one support sessions to help survivors understand and counteract the tactic used by abusers.
